Cougar Club of New England – 2007 Annual meeting – April 29, 2007 APPLEBEES GRILL, TEWKSBURY, MA 4 open positions on the Board It was then discussed/decided that the Finance Director and Membership Director should/would work together as closely as possible in order to best serve the needs of membership. Volunteering and then voted into each position respectively is Cynthia Ghizzi and Charlotte Vreeland. A big thank you goes out to the both of them as each position is crucial to the efficient operation of the club. It was decided that Dan Houde would continue to serve as the Events Director for the club until another volunteer steps forward. The communications position is still up for grabs.
Potential events for 2007 Events consumed a good portion of the 3-hour meeting. The main topic revolved around feedback received from club members in the past year. Specifically, the type of “events” that the club holds/attends and the location of them. It was suggested that the club should be careful not to hold too many events in the NH area as there are already 2 events in the state locked in for 2007. It was then noted/agreed that the bulk of members are centralized in southern NH and north-eastern MA and therefore, this is not yet a problem. Next, the club should focus more on the “social” aspect of gatherings vs. the typical “show” format that can be somewhat “stagnant”. A “more active” gathering was discussed involving cruises, bbq’s and/or technical meetings. Considerations are a south-eastern gathering/cruise and a similar southern NH event. Until specifics for those ideas are worked out, the following events will be “promoted” for 2007: May – Mequiar’s Detailing Clinic has been cancelled June - All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA – June 1-3 July - CCOA Cougar Nationals, Denver, CO – July 19-22 Aug - TBD Sept - TBD Oct - 3rd Annual Cruizin’ Cougars show @ Bobby's Girl Diner, New Hampton, NH – Sunday, Oct 6
Membership renewals for 2007 New members who join by August 1st of each year, will renew by the following May. New members will get a welcome letter, sticker and keychain upon joining. Renewal should be sent a thank you and a new club sticker. If members have 2 cougars, they should be given 2 stickers Club newsletter
